This is about who I am.  Things have changed so much in the last few years, sometimes I hardly recognize myself.

Neither has made my fortune, but they’ve both been fun to write.  I’ve also written a couple of plays: The Mermaid, which saw the stage at the Shoebox theatre in Regina and Les Chemins de la memoire which was produced by La Troupe du Jour and played across Saskatchewan and Alberta.   I have had cartoons in the french paper : L’Eau Vive and done some cartoon work for l’AJF in Saskatoon, and a series of radio plays, accompanied by the comic book: Bruno et Alice.  All Art by me, story in cooperation with the ever wonderful Adrienne Sawchuck.

In the last few years,  I’ve moved my writing to comic books and cartoons, which is what you will find on my blog, mainly.  From time to time I wax poetic and write an entry in words, but generally I much prefer to draw or paint.

I am an avid traveler and by now I have seen a bit of the world , although never quite enough, so at this writing I am preparing a second trip to Asia. If I manage to stay on track, I should be in Vietnam this October and Kerala India in February. To that fabulous trip I added Cambodia, more Thailand, Laos and Burma all of which is now last year’s achievement which ended with a trip to HongKong, and a visit with the most darling outlaws a woman can have among her once related!

In my life quest to travel, I’ve learned to fly and worked as a bush pilot in Northern Saskatchewan for awhile.  I’ve also learned to sail and did a number of crossings between Hawaii and the mainland as crew on small sailboats. I’ve  managed to get half way to Tahiti by sailboat, but in the end flew to French Polynesia and had a magnificent time. Traveling to French Polynesia along with the other places I have been to like the Canadian Arctic, where I stayed three years; Crete, Venice, Ste Croix in the Caribbean, Nepal, Thailand, Bali, New Zealand, San Francisco, New York, Stonehenge in England, Scotland, Brittany in France, were all inspired by the books and « bandes dessinees » I read.   I’m ever so grateful to the talented authors and artists who inspired and continue to inspire  my travels through their work. My inspiration, my motivation and my greatest achievement are my children: Kristopher and Nathalie to whom I dedicate this blog.

And so it was pointed out to me that I needed to update my bio!   after LA Cruz de Huanacaxtle I went on tho visit other parts of Mexico like Mexico city, Cancun and Tulum and was on my way up towards Xichen Itza when a family emergency brought me back to Canada.   A year went by and by august of 2019 I was back in Vancouver planning my next adventure.  A quick one month trip to Panama, learning Spanish in the lovely old town of Casco Viejo and a short visit to Boca del Toro… ah!  Bocas! , where, accompanied by my daughter, I did my very first Scuba dive… more on this for the next update.  I returned to Vancouver and shortly after returned to Mexico, this time to San Carlos.  I came to check out a sailboat.

Last year about this time I bought that sailboat.  I named her Tiki-Chéri because I love her and I have dreamt about her for years. As dreams do eventually come true, she is mine at last and we are preparing our voyages together.  Our adventures have started.

It is time to catch up on the bio and the blog!

Time has flown: A pandemic; a lot of work on TikiCheri to improve all systems; day sails out of Marina Real to test said systems and gain confidence.  A crossing to Santa Rosalia and back to Marina Real in San Carlos; another down the Baja to LaPaz and back.  A sail with the Tucson Yacht club to the Midriff islands, and at the last , back down the Baja and a crossing over to Puerto Vallarta that wasn’t without drama. Through it all I gained knowledge of sailing, of the sea and of course of Tiki Cheri.   We are both improving and more than ever determined to continue learning and adventuring!
